Development Area 6 (DA6) Implementation

Development Area 6 (DA6) is a significant redevelopment area located within City of Belmont which encompasses land bound by Great Eastern Highway, Coolgardie Avenue, Redcliffe Road, Fauntleroy Avenue and Tonkin Highway, as well as Perth Airport’s Airport West Precinct.

Planning for the area is informed by the ‘DA6 Vision Plan and Implementation Strategy’ and centres on the delivery of the new Redcliffe Train Station through the State Government’s Forrestfield Airport Link (FAL) project. DA6 can be easily distinguished into two main areas: Perth Airport’s Airport West Precinct and a portion of the Redcliffe neighbourhood between Perth Airport and Great Eastern Highway.

Perth Airport Pty Ltd undertakes planning work for its Airport West Precinct through the preparation and review of the Perth Airport Masterplan. The City of Belmont is currently preparing the planning framework for the remainder of the DA6 precinct in Redcliffe, which involves establishing an overarching statutory mechanism (either an Improvement Plan and Improvement Scheme or an amendment to Local Planning Scheme No. 15) and preparing an Activity Centre Plan, Design Guidelines and a Development Contribution Plan.

The City of Belmont is undertaking pre-consultation on the draft Redcliffe Station Activity Centre Plan from 26 February 2020 to 14 April 2020. Refer to the following links to find out more about the draft Activity Centre Plan and how you can be involved in the consultation process.
