Proposed Changes to Council Meeting Times

We are planning to start Ordinary Council Meetings and Agenda Briefing Forums at 6:30pm in 2024.

This change is reflective of feedback received to date, will support alignment with other City of Belmont meeting times and enable consistency with neighbouring local governments who commence meetings at 6pm or 6:30pm.

We understand that Council meetings can sometimes extend for many hours, involving various discussions and decisions. We want to ensure that attending these meetings is as accommodating as possible for everyone involved.

The community was invited to provide feedback on the proposed change during the public comment period in August and September 2024. Thank you to everyone who contributed during this period.

Following review of the feedback received, Ordinary Council Meetings and Agenda Briefing Forums will commence at 6:30pm from 2024.
