There is an increased demand for recreation facilities in the City but limited public open space. We are looking at options with their stakeholders to better use the spaces they have.
Abernethy Sporting Precinct
We are looking at the future of the Abernethy Sporting Precinct to ensure it meets the needs of our clubs and wider community.
We're exploring opportunities for the possible expansion and redevelopment of a multi-use sporting and recreational hub for our community.
After completing a preliminary investigation, 400 Abernethy Road was identified as a suitable location to explore in collaboration with sporting clubs, site-users and the wider community.
Opportunities and future planning of the Abernethy Sporting Precinct are being explored together with local club members, residents and community group representatives through shared values and priorities.
We look forward to providing updates on this long-term project as it evolves.
