Belvidere Street underground power consent and electrical audit
A key step in progressing the Belvidere Streetscape Revitalisation Plan is investigating underground power in the precinct. Underground power will improve the look and feel of the street and make it a far more attractive place for people to live, work and visit.
While the timeline for this process will be determined by Western Power, we have engaged an electrical consultant to prepare an application for their consideration.
Electrical audit
We engaged Datatel Electrical Communications to conduct an audit along Belvidere Street to ensure all electrical systems will successfully transition to proposed underground power.
The electrical audit was undertaken on properties that currently have an overhead power connection, and included an inspection of the external switchboard.
Western Power letters of consent
Letters will now be circulated to residents, business and landowners who will be affected by the upgrade to underground power.
These letters will include a letter of consent for property owners to review and sign. This letter grants permission for Western Power to underground the power as part of the streetscape revitalisation project.
Properties that may be required to upgrade their switchboards for compatibility will also receive a report from the recently completed electrical audit.
