Improved lighting for our sporting clubs
We’re upgrading the sports lighting at Centenary Park to support the growing needs of local clubs, with works starting early May.
The upgrade will deliver upgraded lighting for the park’s rugby pitch, in line with Rugby Australia’s National Facility Guidelines. This means better conditions for training, safer gameplay, and more opportunities to host local fixtures.
The project includes:
Initial works will focus on underground cabling and infrastructure, with larger construction activities like footing excavation, structural cage placement, and concrete pours happening from late May.
This project was identified as a priority through the City’s 2022 Recreation Facility Needs Analysis, which aims to ensure all local sporting venues are safe, inclusive, and able to meet community demand.
The park will remain open for casual use throughout the project. Please stay clear of work areas and follow signage on site.
Contractors will work Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm, and will minimise noise, dust, and vibration wherever possible.
