The Esplanade Foreshore Stabilisation and Landscaping Works

The City is undertaking works to restore the riverbank and enhance the surrounding open space at The Esplanade foreshore in Ascot.

Natural erosion has resulted in deterioration of the riverbank, existing trees and fridge sedge vegetation along the 200m strip of foreshore. Stabilisation works are required to restore the riverbank and protect it into the future.

The works will also include landscaping and installation of new amenities to create a vibrant, natural space for our community to enjoy.

The project aims to maintain The Esplanade's primary purpose and improve upon its existing functionality by creating safe, accessible, and sustainable riverbanks and accessways.

Project Scope

The riverbank stabilisation works include maintenance of the existing gabion wall and retaining wall, installation of a rock revetment along the foreshore strip, and addition of a brush mattress.

The works will also include upgrades to existing stormwater facilities, plus installation of a fishing platform, viewing deck, walkways and extensive revegetation.
