Fulham Street and Wright Street Pedestrian Zebra Crossing
The City of Belmont are working to upgrade pedestrian zebra crossings on Fulham Street and Wright Street.
We’re happy to introduce a safer way to cross between your favourite activity centres in Cloverdale.
After receiving community feedback and with the intention of upgrading connectivity, we have implemented a plan to install pedestrian zebra crossings, which include advance warning signs and zebra crossing pavement markings.
This will highlight the pedestrian crossing, giving motorists an advanced warning.
This will ensure pedestrians have priority over the vehicles on the road and provide better lighting at crossing points, enhancing safety.
Whilst this new crossing will assist pedestrians, it is important they stop and check motorists have noticed them waiting to cross.
This will help improve the flow of movement at these crossings, meaning less crossing wait time for pedestrians and a better circulation of traffic for motorists.
Two new crossings will be installed, one on Fulham Street north of Belmont Avenue roundabout and one on Wright Street north of Robinson Avenue.
Surrounding businesses will be notified of the works shortly before their commencement.
