Local Planning Strategy
We've developed a new draft Local Planning Strategy which will replace our current Local Planning Strategy, once endorsed by Council and the Western Australian Planning Commision.
The draft Strategy is presented in a single document that is split into two parts:
- Part 1 - proposes a vision, outlines applicable themes from the State Planning Framework, explores 12 key considerations and opportunies, and includes planning directions for each.
- Part 2 - provides background information and analysis as a rationale and evidence base for Part 1.
You can access the draft Strategy through the document library on this page.
Local Housing Strategy
Our new draft Local Housing Strategy proposes a strategic framework to guide the future housing needs in our city. It has been formed following a review of the current strategic planning context, demographic and housing trends, and our existing statutory planning framework.
If adopted by Council, the Strategy will replace the our 2011 Local Housing Strategy, and has a guidance timeframe of around 10 to 15 years, after which it is expected to be reviewed.
The draft Strategy proposes a vision, objectives and strategies, and includes actions to achieve them.
