Street Trees

The City of Belmont is committed to making our suburbs more enjoyable to live and work in through its Urban Forest Strategy.

The Strategy aims to increase the canopy cover through the planting of trees to increase shade and reduce the urban heat island effect.

The City is currently organising its street tree planting this winter 2019.

We invite you to participate in improving the streetscapes of the City of Belmont by having trees planted on the available verge space adjacent to your property. Help us ‘green’ our suburbs.

The City will maintain and water the trees during the initial establishment phase. Any additional watering the occupant is able to provide within the Water Corporation guidelines) will help ensure the success of this planting program.

If you have any queries or questions please contact the City’s Parks and Environment Administration Officer, Amy Usher on 9477 7257.

CLOSED: The deadline for submissions (5pm Friday 22 February 2019) has passed.
