Belmont Connect
The City of Belmont is installing solar-powered bollard lights around Tomato Lake to improve safety and accessibility in the early mornings and evenings.
The lights will be powered by solar hubs placed throughout the park, providing a sustainable and energy-efficient solution without impacting the natural landscape.
This project creates more opportunities for our community to connect and enjoy Tomato Lake.
There will be over 200 bollards installed along the Tomato Lake pathway. This is approximately 2.5km.
The City continually reviews opportunities for park improvements based on community need and funding availability.
The solar powered bollards will be programmed to light up from dusk until dawn. Given the bollards are powered by the sun, light strength may be dependent on season.
The solar powered lighting bollards are designed to light the path. They will cast light downward, not affecting surrounding wildlife.
