Redcliffe Area Traffic Study Council Decision

The Redcliffe Area Traffic Study was considered by Council at the 27 May Ordinary Council Meeting.

The short, medium, and long-term recommendations were endorsed.

Progress of the design and implementation of the revised Low-Cost Urban Road Safety (LCURS) project along Stanton Road and Second Street will occur in 2025-26.

The scope of work includes:

  • Raised plateau at Moreing Street, Stanton Road intersection
  • Raised plateau at Lyall Street, Stanton Road intersection
  • Temporary left in and left out at Lyall Street, Stanton Road intersection
  • Raised plateau at Morrison Street with a roundabout
  • Pedestrian crossing west of Lyall Street
  • Children crossing west of Morrison Street
  • Relocation of existing children crossing, east of Kanowna Avenue
  • Sign posting of a 40 km/hr limit upon completion of works

We are planning these works with timing influenced by Western Power lighting upgrade requirements, pedestrian movement surveys, Main Roads approval and fuding.

In addition, the following intersections will be investigated in the 2025-26:

  • Victoria Street and Moreing Street
  • Epsom Avenue, Durban Street and Stanton Road
  • Redcliffe Road and Fauntleroy Avenue
  • Epsom Avenue and Victoria Street
  • Second Street and Kanowna Avenue
  • Morrison Street, Traffone Street and Ryans Court
