Community Consultation Findings

The City has reviewed and summarised feedback gathered from surveying of residents living near Redcliffe Park Reserve, regarding the proposed installation of outdoor exercise equipment (OEE) on Grand Parade in Redcliffe.

We thank everyone who took the time to share their thoughts.

Survey results

The results confirmed there is a strong support for OEE in this location, with over 70% of respondents ‘likely’ to ‘very likely’ to use the equipment.

It was great to hear the voice of local residents with 74% of respondents residing in Redcliffe.

The community have advised they value the following exercise types in order of most important to least important:

  • Calisthenics
  • Strength
  • Cardio
  • Flexibility
  • Stability

The predominant age of users based on survey results:

  • 35-44 years (27.97% of users)
  • 45–54 years (27.97% of users)
  • 25-34 years (21% of users)
  • 55-64 years (8% of users)

What happens next?

The City has used the survey findings to develop a design scope and is now seeking a suitable contractor to design, supply and install OEE and rubber soft fall at Redcliffe Park.

Once the preferred supplier is engage, Belmont Connect will be updated with details of the final design.
