Phase two of artwork installation begins

16 February 2026

The next phase of the Acknowledgement of Country public artwork at Belmont Hub is coming to life.

Over the coming weeks, the connecting stencil design by Noongar artist Yondee Shane Hansen will be installed on the ramp wall outside Belmont Hub.

The first phase of the artwork was installed in 2024 and includes a stencilled design on the access ramp near the Wright Street bus stop and a sculptural element installed in the concrete planter outside Belmont Hub.

Installation of phase two is scheduled to take place over five days between Thursday 19 and Wednesday 25 February, with works occurring Monday to Friday between 7am and 5pm.

This process includes sandblasting and staining of the artwork design on to the wall, and may result in some noise and disruption.

Temporary fencing will be in place while works are underway, but access to Belmont Hub, 8 Yolks Cafe and the bus stop will not be impacted.

For further details on the works, visit the information page on Belmont Connect.
